What is Second Love?

We are so excited to announce the trial launch of Second Love - an initiative to save you money, save the planet and help your wallet.

What is Second Love?

Second Love is a peer to peer platform consisting of a  curated range of samples, seconds, deadstock and gently used well known retro brand names such as Hell Bunny, Collectif, Tatyana, Unique Vintage - and so many more in the waiting wings!

We are trialing the launch with trusted partners - some loyal customers, and some fellow shop owners, but soon we will be opening to more sellers. Do you have a wardrobe you would like to thin out? Join the waiting list here.

How Do I know if an item is part of the Second Love range?

Samita

Every Second Love item is denoted by the cute little Second Love badge. When you are looking at the gorgeous goodies on the Cheribomb Retro website, you will see items with the the badge in the upper right hand corner.

How can I be sure that the garment I'm buying is exactly as described?

Cautious is good, especially in these current economic times. This is why we are trialing the initiative with trusted sellers. Cheribomb Retro has been in the vintage game since 2016 - we will vet and approve each and every item that is listed for sale.  We will only allow good quality known brands for sale. There are also checks and measures for sellers and buyers that we have in place.

Each garment is thoroughly described and priced according to it's status. Each garment is thoroughly described and priced according to it's status, and there is a unique system of symbols which will allow you to easily understand the state of each garment:

Brand New With Tags - exactly as described. This year has taken its toll on many small businesses and we have seen many business closures. Second Love is also a coop of sorts helping small businesses owners move on BNWT stock in these dire economic times.

Brand New Without Tags - exactly as described. Brand new stock that is missing tags.
Needs Some TLC - please read item description very carefully, this garment may have some faults.

PreLoved - grab a bargain with gently preloved goods!

True Vintage - breathtakingly beautiful original vintage gear from the 50, 60s, 70, 80s and 90s

How do we age this dress?
We can age this dress by the ILGWU label that is attached. We know that the womenswear with the blue label and the (r) were manufacturered between 1964 and 1973. The style of this dress indicates it was made in the late 60s

Founded in 1900, the International Ladies’ Garment Workers’ Union (ILGWU) was a pioneering force in US labor history, championing the rights of women in the garment industry. Despite harsh conditions and low pay, the union provided a platform for collective action, advocating for improved working conditions, fair wages, and gender equality.  Through its efforts, the ILGWU significantly influenced labor standards and worker rights, leaving a lasting legacy in American history.
